Since 2001 I have had many titles in a variety of fields: student, educator, musician, actor, director, producer, partner, and administrator. The two titles that mean the most to me though are Mommy and Librarian.

For the last ten years, I have worked in library services in Memphis, Tennessee, first as a senior administrator in the public library and now as a school librarian working with students from 3 to 12 years old. I use music, movement, and play to enhance early childhood literacy skills, trained at the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center school in object-based learning, and am particularly passionate about fostering a genuine love of learning in my middle-grade students.

I decided to create this page after spending the last two school years studying world mythologies with my fifth-grade students, in order to develop their research skills and prepare them for middle school. While we explored mythologies from around the world, Greek mythology was by far the most popular and the one that my students continued to ask and talk about.
