Mythweb

Mythweb is a simple website with one focus, which is to provide a safe, easy-to-navigate place on the internet for school-age students to learn about Greek mythology. With simple tabs leading to pages on the gods, heroes, the Trojan War, and even an extensive encyclopedia, Mythweb has been consistently online and supported since 1994.

Greek Crafts, Facts, and Activities

A family-run website since 1998, DLTK provides a space for educational resources, crafts, and activities geared toward younger (school-age) students on a variety of topics. Understanding the importance of its history and culture in our world, DLTK devotes a page to Greece that not only provides fun activities about Greek mythology but also offers facts about the country of Greece today. Some of the activities include an Athena toilet paper roll craft, printable coloring and activity pages, and many Greek stories like Icarus, Persephone, and even the zodiac.

Mensa for kids: An Introduction to Greek Mythology

For middle school students, children who are considered to be gifted, or even home-schoolers who are looking for more in-depth information due to deep interest, the Mensa for Kids website offers full lessons on Greek mythology for extra learning. Included alongside the lesson plans are learning objectives and reading materials including classics like Edith Hamilton’s Mythology and newer offerings such as Aliki’s The Gods and Goddesses of Olympus.

Ancient Greece for Kids: Games

This website as a whole, which is created by an educator named Lin Donn, is a LOT of clickbait. Ads are everywhere, as many websites run by fans usually are. That being said, the one page of Ancient Greece for Kids that is really terrific is his resource list under the "Games" tab about Greek mythology. He has compiled a list of play-along games, Jeopardy-style challenges, and even quizzes to find out what kind of mythological creature you might be. These links are connected to websites that can provide even more information, such as the BBC, National Geographic, and even Donn's own open-access PowerPoint presentations for classroom tips.
